How do mechanics lend to the gameplay loop naturally?
The Loop
Defend > Collect > Explore > Invest
Defend:
We need some kind of feedback for hitting targets. Maybe a flash of red for damage, or a number shows up.
Character Design – need some color palette contrast between enemies and friendlies.
Fine Tuning hit boxes
Explore:
Need to add a map.
Collect:
Need sound queues for when different items are collected.
Some pronounced HUD counter for coins and/or items.
Invest:
Investments allow for projection on return so we need to not only setup a shop, but also have it be a tiered system that grows as a character grows. Maybe have different tiers to each weapon type. Or special skills and an ultimate that can be unlocked at the end.
